Green-winged Teal is a scarce visitor to both North and South Uist. It is rare on Lewis with 21 records between 1977-2022, and Benbecula with 17 records between 1980-2021, and very rare on Barra (2009, 2020, 2021, 2021/22, 2022/23), and St. Kilda (1980, 1986, 1987, 2009, 2010).

All records are of males in breeding plumage since females, juveniles, and males in eclipse are essentially indistinguishable from Eurasian Teal.  It has been recorded in all months except July, August, and September when the males are in eclipse.

Some birds have been long-stayers, and some records relate to returning birds.

There are no records from Harris or Vatersay.
